May 24, 2017: Confronting the Opioid Epidemic

The statistics are alarming.  Drug overdoses – mainly from prescription drugs and heroin – are now the leading cause of accidental death in North Carolina.  The opioid epidemic not only causes premature deaths, it tears families apart and places a heavy burden on healthcare facilities and law enforcement.

At our May 24th event, Mission Health Systems CEO Dr. Ron Paulus and Buncombe County Sheriff Van Duncan will conduct a panel discussion on “The Impact of the Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse Crisis on Health Providers and Law Enforcement.”  We hope you will join us for this timely and important program.
