March 22, 2017:Report Card from Raleigh

Although most of the political headlines seem to come from Washington, North Carolina also is experiencing some turbulent times right now.  The newly-elected Democratic governor is facing off against a solidly Republican General Assembly.   Will HB-2 be modified or repealed?   Can North Carolina teachers expect a raise in pay? What about the tug-of-war over voter identification laws?

At LAF’s March 22nd luncheon event, we’ll get an update from Prof. Chris Cooper, the Western Carolina University political science expert, on those and other hot-button topics in Raleigh.  As a non-partisan observer, Prof. Cooper is uniquely qualified to examine the issues through the lens of political science research.
